The BREC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, proudly supports the Baton Rouge Zoo — continuing the legacy of Friends of the Baton Rouge Zoo, DBA Baton Rouge Zoo Foundation in advancing the Zoo’s mission of animal welfare, conservation, community engagement, and education.
The Foundation raises funds to support significant events like Zippity Zoo Fest, Dreamnight, The Wild Pour, Boo at the Zoo, Rumble in the Jungle, and Zoo Lights. Additionally, it contributes to wildlife conservation initiatives, capital improvements, and community outreach to promote the zoo. There are many ways to get involved with the foundation.

The Zoo is always looking for ways to add enrichment to the animal's lives. This new wish list program allows the public to purchase toys, treats and other fun items for the Zoo's birds, carnivores, hoofstock, primates, education department and more. This can range from playmats and balls to spices and scratching pads!
