Get into the Holiday Spirit with Zoo Lights at BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo presented by Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health

EAST BATON ROUGE PARISH — BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo is thrilled to announce the return of Zoo Lights, presented by Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health and supported by Neighbors Federal Credit Union. From November 29 through December 30 (closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day), Zoo Lights invites families to enjoy a festive wonderland of twinkling lights and holiday magic.

On opening day, November 29, guests can kick off the season with an extra treat: the first 200 guests to visit and “hug” the Coca-Cola Polar Bear will receive a free 12-ounce Coca-Cola while supplies last. The Coca-Cola Santa truck will also appear from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. that evening, adding cheer to the night’s festivities.

Seniors: $4
Children (2-12): $3
Children (1 and under): Free
Zoo Members: $3 per person
Admission for Zoo Lights runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with zoo grounds closing at 9 p.m.

Holiday Food Drive:
Continuing the tradition, BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo is partnering with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank to support local families in need. Guests who bring a non-perishable food item will receive a 50% discount on regular admission. This year’s goal is to collect 8,000 pounds of food, surpassing last year’s contribution of 7,481 pounds.

Additional Information:
Animal Viewing: Limited evening viewing as many animals are brought indoors at night.
Train: Not operating during Zoo Lights.
Trail Access: Designated lighted paths will be open, with some areas closed for safety.
Dining: Specialty holiday treats and regular menu items are available at the Flamingo Café.
Gift Shop: The Adventure Market Gift Shop will be open nightly for holiday shopping.
Rain or Shine: Zoo Lights will proceed in all weather; no refunds or rainchecks are available.

Enjoy thousands of colorful lights this season at Zoo Lights, a beloved Baton Rouge tradition. Santa Claus will make special appearances on Fridays and Saturdays leading up to Christmas at the Otter Cabin, where families can share holiday wishes and capture festive photos.
