Get Ready for a Fa-BOO-lous Adventure at BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo's "Boo at the Zoo"!

Baton Rouge, LA – BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo is thrilled to announce the return of the beloved family-friendly Halloween event, "Boo at the Zoo," presented by Hancock Whitney. This year's event will take place on October 21, 22, 28, and 29, coinciding with the zoo's regular admission hours. The festivities are sure to create memorable moments and cherished family traditions.

Highlights of Boo at the Zoo 2023 include:

Festive Photo Opps: Our beloved Halloween and fall-themed hand-painted displays will be back up throughout the zoo for families to capture new memories.

Princess Character Meet and Greets: Each day from 12–2 p.m., children and families will have the opportunity to meet a few of their favorite princess characters in a fairytale setting. Be prepared for enchanting moments and perfect photo opportunities.

Entertainment at the Capital One Pavilion: Kids can enjoy entertainment at the Capital One Pavilion, including a show by The Dinosaur Experience (Oct 21 – 22 only,) magic shows by X-Treme Talent, and more.

Animal Enrichments: Many of the zoo’s animals will have special Halloween-themed enrichments, a great chance to observe their playful and inquisitive behaviors.

Pumpkin Patch and Treats: Every child aged 12 and under will receive a mini pumpkin from our pumpkin patch and a Halloween treat bag!

Costume Extravaganza: To fully embrace the Halloween spirit, all visitors are encouraged to wear their spookiest, silliest, or most creative Halloween costumes. Tag the zoo in your Facebook and Instagram photos for a chance to be featured on our pages.

Food and refreshments will be available for purchase at the Flamingo Café, and the Boo at the Zoo food court, located in the Capital One Pavilion, including Cajun favorites, jambalaya, gumbo and boudin, by Rice and Roux and a variety scrumptious funnel cakes from the Funnel Factory.

Zoo Members are encouraged to renew their memberships online or through the mail before arriving at the event. The zoo will not be able to support a cash membership transaction on event day.
