Art For Animals Festival: Where Art and Conservation Converge
We invite you and your family to join us on November 11th for a captivating new event at the Baton Rouge Zoo, the Art for Animals Festival! At the Baton Rouge Zoo, we believe in fostering a deep appreciation for wildlife and the preservation of our planet's remarkable biodiversity.
Starting on November 11th, you can visit the specially curated art exhibition at the Zoo featuring local artists and their works inspired by wildlife, nature and conservation. All artists in the area age 14 or older are invited to submit their artwork for consideration for this exhibition.
Beyond the thrill of observing magnificent creatures, we have also organized a variety of family-friendly activities and entertainment to add an extra layer of excitement to your visit. Watch talented artists create paintings of the animals during the day while enjoying ambient live music throughout the zoo. From 10 to 4 pm artists Grace Thompson, Peter Doursey, Jourdan Miley, Kristen Serio, and Morgan Udoh will be stationed to paint at various exhibits throughout the zoo. From 10-1 pm musician, Melissa Seidule will play in the Conservation Plaza, followed by Josiah Shillow from 1-4 pm.
Additionally, young adventurers can look forward to an opportunity to create their own wildlife-inspired crafts, hosted by Creative Hub Central!
So mark your calendars for November 11th and join us at the Baton Rouge Zoo for an artful journey into the world of art and animals! Be sure to invite your family and friends to share in this wild new experience, too. Regular zoo admission applies during this event, and you may pre-purchase your tickets online. As always, members receive free admission to the zoo.

Art For Animals Festival Exhibition
The Baton Rouge Zoo invites artists in the Greater Baton Rouge Areat to submit artwork that explores the connection between art and wildlife conservation. Accepted artwork will be on display during the inaugural Art for Animals Festival on November 11, 2023.
