Warmouth
Warmouth is secretive, seeking cover in rocky banks, stumps, or weeds, where they can hide and wait for food. The male warmouth will defend his nest and newly hatched fry by puffing out his gill plates to appear larger. His eyes will become redder and his body turns a golden color. If his display fails to work he will attempt to nip the intruder.
