Timber Rattlesnake

The timber rattlesnake is extremely shy of humans. It will rarely rattle preferring to remain undetected and will often refrain from striking even if it is stepped on!

Female timber rattlers gather in groups to give birth and do not feed while they are gravid. The mother snake stays with her young until they have their first shed. She usually reproduces only once every three years.
