Grey Ratsnake

While they are typically solitary, these snakes will hibernate in dens with other snakes including copperheads and rattlesnakes. When threatened this snake will attempt to flee, but if cornered it will vibrate its tail to imitate the sound of a rattlesnake. It is also capable of producing a foul-smelling musk to discourage a predator.
