Green-Winged Macaw

The green-winged macaw is sometimes confused with the scarlet macaw since both are predominantly red. The lines of feathers near the green-wing's eyes are red, those of the scarlet are black.

This is one of the few macaw species that is not currently listed as threatened or endangered. Their numbers are dropping, but they are found over a very wide area so are less susceptible to habitat loss.
