It's BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo's 55th Birthday!
BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo will hold its annual spring festival, Zippity Zoo Fest. This year, celebrate the Zoo's 55th Birthday! We’ll have a Children's Village, education stations, a food court, and animal encounters.
9:30 am—5:00 pm, Grounds close at 6:00 pm
Adult admission: $10.00
Senior admission: $8.50
Ages 2-12 admission: $7.00
Ages 1 and under: Free
Entertainment:
Face painting: All day - both days
Character Meet & Greets: Batman, Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Belle, Peter Pan, Spidey and Rapunzel (day and times - below)
Dinosaur Experience Shows: 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m. (both days)
Community Partners: Booths around the zoo will be set up with interactive, hands-on activities for the kids.
Children’s Village: Features bounce houses (all day), a caricature artist (mid-day | both days), a coloring station (all day), and performances (see below for schedule).
Ambassador Animal Meet & Greets: Guests can interact with some of the zoo’s animal ambassadors and learn about their species from the Education Department.
Keeper Chats & Animal Enrichments: Zookeepers will share insights into animal care and answer questions. Select sessions will feature special birthday treats for the animals.
AAZK Booth: The Baton Rouge Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK) will raise funds for conservation and share information about their philanthropy projects and professional development initiatives.
