It's BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo's 55th Birthday!
BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo will hold its annual spring festival, Zippity Zoo Fest. This year, celebrate the Zoo's 55th Birthday!!! We’ll have a Children's Village, education stations, a food court, and animal encounters.
9:30 am—5:00 pm, Grounds close 6:00 pm
Adult admission: $10.00
Senior admission: $8.50
Ages 2-12 admission: $7.00
Ages 1 and under: Free
Entertainment
Join in the festivities by having your face painted! Then, enjoy the talents of community groups from across the area who have come out to celebrate the zoo. We may even have some characters stop by throughout the weekend for meet-and-greet opportunities!
Ambassador Animal Meet & Greets
You'll get to meet some of our education department's animal ambassadors and learn a little about each species from our Education Department.
Keeper Chats & Animal Enrichments
Hear from our Zookeepers, ask questions, and learn how we care for our animals daily. At select Keeper Chats, watch our animals enjoy a special Zoo birthday treat!
AAZK Booth
Visit the Baton Rouge Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (AAZK). This year at Zippity, AAZK is raising funds for conservation. Talk with our Zookeepers to learn about the amazing things they do for philanthropy projects, continuing education, and professional development.
