Black and White Ruffed Lemur

Lemurs are the most primitive primates. Being isolated on Madagascar and Comoro Islands, with few predators and reliable food sources, has allowed lemurs to remain unchanged for thousands of years.

Ruffed lemurs can communicate with each other over long distances using a call known as a "roar/shriek."
