Domestic breed developed in Southeast Asia

Vietnamese Pot-bellied Pig

Vietnamese potbelly pigs are a dwarf breed. They were brought to the United States in 1986 originally for display in zoos but quickly caught on in the pet industry. A 200 pound pig may not seem small, but they are much smaller than domestic pigs that can weigh up to 1500 pounds.

Wallowing is a pig's method for keeping cool and protecting itself from insect bites.
